The Simpsons Arrives in Rocket League: But It's Not the Vehicle You're Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole place where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. However, whether players will truly desire to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield vehicle everyone is eager to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most gamers would absolutely enjoy to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical car the patriarch built himself in the 1991 episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. Not even receiving the massive SUV, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in season 10. Instead, players are getting the family's everyday well-worn four-door, which they've been driving since 1989. Even though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an iconic symbol of the show. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League car hitboxes, the trusty sedan uses the same hitbox as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the sole cosmetic from the series arriving in the game. The event will also include a series of objectives to earn more goodies, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a press release, the missions will task players to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons years on air, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance worthy of acquiring the ideal pastries!"
Although the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced so far:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
Based on promotional images is any indication, it appears players will also get rims featuring a TV displaying The Simpsons' title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts themed to burning tires and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Launch Dates and Crossover Details
This event coincides with the major The Simpsons takeover of Fortnite's island, which brings a completely new playable area of Springfield, in addition to a month-long Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons celebration begins on November 1st and ends on Nov. 17.
