Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
Success also means he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children together, so to win a title is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better service.
He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
